Ahmedabad: With ICC Men’s T20 World Cup India 2026 matches scheduled at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera, city police have announced traffic restrictions and diversions on key arterial roads to ensure smooth movement and prevent congestions during match days.In an official notification, city police commissioner G S Malik said traffic curbs will be enforced on days when international matches are played at the stadium, considering the expected movement of VVIPs, players, celebrities, and thousands of spectators arriving within a short span of time.As per the order, the stretch from Janpath T junction to the stadium’s main gate, via Krupa Residency T Junction to Motera Gam T Junction, will remain closed to all types of vehicular traffic during notified hours on match days. Commuters have been advised to use alternative routes. Vehicles can travel from Tapovan Circle via ONGC Crossroads, Visat T Junction, Janpath T Junction, Powerhouse Crossroads, and Prabodh Raval Circle. Another diversion is available via the Krupa Residency T Junction, Sharan Status Crossroads, the Bhat-Koteshwar Road, and Apollo Circle.On certain dates, restrictions will continue into early morning hours of the following day. Emergency vehicles such as ambulances, fire brigade units, police vehicles on duty, and vehicles associated with the matches will be exempt. Residents living within the restricted zone will also be allowed movement after verification.Police warned that violations of the traffic order will attract action.
