Patna: The bodies of a family of three from Sheikhpura district, including a man and his one-and-a-half-year-old son, were brought back to their native village on Wednesday evening after being found in Chennai. The father and child’s bodies were recovered while the search for the mother continues.The father’s mutilated body was discovered in a sack in Indira Nagar, under the Adyar police station area, and the child’s body was found in the Cooum River near Mylapore. The police are searching for the mother’s body in the Perungudi dumping yard.Chennai police have arrested five people, including a relative of the victim’s wife. Sheikhpura police said the case appeared linked to a love affair.The victims have been identified as Gaurav Yadav (28) of Pathlafar village under Sheikhpura Town police station limits, his wife Moni Kumari (24), and their son Guddu, also known as Veermani. Gaurav had worked for the past four years as a security guard at a hospital in Chennai’s Adyar area. The family had recently returned to Chennai on Jan 16 after visiting their native villages during Makar Sankranti.Gaurav’s younger brother, Surendra Yadav, said, “The initial call was in Tamil, which our father could not understand, after which we contacted my elder brother living in Chennai, who reached the spot and confirmed the death.”Town SHO Dharmendra Kumar said, “The suspects confessed to killing, and the information provided during questioning led investigators to the recovery of the husband’s and child’s bodies. Investigators are examining the motive, sequence of events, and the role of each suspect.”
