Three minor girls rescued in West Champaran, two held

Bettiah: Police in West Champaran district on Thursday rescued three minor girls and arrested two persons from West Bengal involved in the child trafficking racket.The arrested accused have been identified as Niyoti Devi (43) and Nagesh Bhuinya (19), residents of Kamardanga Haripur village in Burdwan district of West Bengal.

Bagaha SP, Ramanand Kaushal, said on Friday that the police received a tip-off that a woman and a man were taking three girls. Based on the information, a joint team of Naurangiya police station and a local organisation was formed. After verifying the information, the team detained a woman and a man, from whom the three minor girls were rescued.During interrogation, it was revealed that they were luring the girls and taking them to West Bengal. The police sent the two to jail on charge of human trafficking.
