Ghaziabad: Three persons died while a minor boy was injured after a truck hit their bike in the Teela Mod area on Sunday.Police sent the bodies — Lalit Singh (37), a resident of Delhi, his wife Pinky (34) and their son Aarav (10) — for the autopsy, while the couple’s younger son, Neerav (7), was admitted to GTB Hospital in Delhi.A large crowd gathered at the scene while local people blocked Loni Road. After police reached the spot, they calmed the angry crowd. A long traffic jam occurred on Loni Road. Police removed the truck, which was carrying LPG cylinders, and the bike from the road to restore traffic flow.“We detained the driver — Sanjay Kumar (44), a resident of Loni — and soon police will register an FIR,” ACP (Shalimar Garden) Atul Kumar Singh said, adding, “Lalit had tried to overtake the truck and suddenly, he applied brakes after seeing a pothole on the road.

Then, the truck hit the bike and ran over the three. The 10-year-old boy was sitting between his parents while the youngest memberwas on his mother’s lap.” Police said the incident took place around 4pm, when Lalit, who ran a trouser factory in Delhi, was travelling to his in-laws’ house in Muradnagar with his family. When their bike reached Bhopura, the speeding truck hit the bike from behind. After Lalit, Pinky and Aarav fell on the road, the truck’s wheels ran over them. “The three died on the spot, while the boy was injured with a broken leg bone. The driver fled but was apprehended later,” an officer said.
