Hyderabad: Members of the Telangana gazetted junior lecturers association (TGJLA) have demanded that the govt grant them earned leave (EL) for working during the 2024 parliamentary election.They submitted an online petition to the Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) to this effect.During the 2024 nationwide parliamentary elections, officials, teachers and staff working in intermediate education in Telangana played a crucial role in effectively managing various election-related duties and contributing to the successful conduct of the elections. “The board should sanction EL for all employees on election duty,” said K Suresh from the association, expressing gratitude to the board for sanctioning ELs for teachers who worked during the summer vacation over the past three academic years.They added that a petition had been submitted in the past regarding this issue, and that they were once again requesting immediate action. They added that a petition had also been sent to the Telangana governor and the Intermediate education regional director of Warangal.
