Teen held for motorcycle theft at Mumbai's Borivali East

MUMBAI: A teenager was arrested by Kasturba Marg Police for motorcycle theft in Borivali East. With his arrest, two other offences of theft have been solved, police said.The latest incident of theft was reported in the intervening night between Jan 25 and Jan 26.A Borivali East resident had parked his motorcycle near his residence at night but couldn’t find it in the morning. He lodged a police complaint, following which the police team went through footage from 40 to 50 cameras. The police team learnt that the accused was a Malwani resident. By activating their network of informants, police traced the accused, Mohammad Umer Shaikh, 19, from Malwani. The stolen motorcycle worth Rs 80000 was seized from him.
