NOIDA: Noida police have arrested two men for allegedly harassing a woman by making obscene gestures from their car, an incident that has sparked concern over women’s safety in the city. The case falls under the jurisdiction of Sector 24 police station.According to police officials, the incident occurred late at night when the victim was traveling with her family in a car. Near a traffic signal, a red car carrying two men began following them. The accused allegedly lowered the car window and made lewd gestures towards the woman, causing distress and fear. Despite attempts to avoid them, the accused continued their indecent behavior for some distance.The woman and her family immediately raised an alarm and later reported the matter to the police. The victim also shared details of the incident on social media, tagging the police and senior officials, which helped draw swift attention to the case.Acting promptly, the police traced the vehicle using its registration number and CCTV footage from nearby areas. Both accused were identified as IT engineers – Amit Kumar and Abhishek working with a private company in Noida. They are from Azamgarh and Mainpuri districts and were living in rented accommodation in the city.The police arrested both men and seized the car used in the incident. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the BNS related to obscene acts and harassment of women. Senior police officials stated that strict action would be taken to ensure such behavior is not tolerated.
