Lucknow: A govt school teacher in Sultanpur was arrested for kidnapping a Class 3 girl student at knifepoint and threatening to slit her throat if she raised an alarm.The accused reportedly kept the child in a car for nearly 2 hours, roaming through forested areas, before abandoning her near a mosque. The incident occurred in the Chanda Kotwali area and involved a middle school teacher identified as Abdul Rashid (40). According to the child’s statement, the incident took place on Wednesday afternoon after school hours, when she was walking home alone after class. The girl told police that the teacher intercepted her from behind, stopped his car, and forcibly made her sit inside the vehicle. At the time, there were 2 other men present in the car along with the teacher. She alleged that a knife was placed in the front of the vehicle, and she was repeatedly threatened to remain silent. “He told me that if I spoke or screamed, he would cut my throat. Out of fear, I stayed quiet,” the child reportedly told investigators. She further stated that the accused drove her around for nearly 2 hours through jungle areas before finally dropping her near a mosque located about 1 kilometre from her house. After returning home, the traumatised girl narrated the ordeal to her family, prompting immediate panic and outrage. Her uncle, Vikas Shukla, subsequently lodged a formal complaint.The police arrested the accused teacher and produced him before the court, said CO Lambhua Hritik Kumar.Senior police officials said that they were questioning the accused to know the exact cause of the kidnapping.Meanwhile, the Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA), Upendra Gupta, suspended the accused teacher. An inquiry was ordered, and the BEO Karaudikala was directed to submit a detailed investigation report.
