His body was found the next day at the civil hospital in Dera Bassi and was subsequently shifted to GMCH-32.A case was filed on the statement of Vijay Kumar, a relative of the deceased, who said he worked as a bike cab driver and had accompanied Sushil to Haryana on the morning of the abduction for some personal work. They returned to Hallomajra in the evening. He said that around 4.30pm, three to four bike-borne men beat up Sushil and kidnapped him. Though police searched through the night, they were unable to locate him.Vijay Kumar also told police that in Nov 2025, a birthday party was held for Manpreet, brother of accused Anil, at Preet Colony in Zirakpur. He said Sushil attended the party despite not knowing the hosts personally, as he had been invited by a mutual friend. According to the family, everyone consumed alcohol at the party, after which Manpreet and his friends began insisting that Sushil allow them to drive his new car. When he refused, they argued and allegedly tried to snatch the car keys. As Sushil tried to leave, Manpreet suddenly came in front of the moving vehicle and died after being run over. The family said it was an accident but Anil and his associates held Sushil responsible and sought revenge. Although a case was registered against Sushil at Zirakpur police station, he had not been arrested.Among the three arrested suspects, police said Mohit and Negi had no previous criminal record, while Rajneesh faced an extortion case registered in Zirakpur in 2024. Relatives said Sushil, who was engaged and was to be married in two months, had lost his parents and sister earlier and lived with his brother and sister-in-law in a govt house in Sector 20 while working as a taxi driver.MSID:: 128033702 413 |
