Task force seizes 30.6g of mephedrone in Khadia, 3 booked

Ahmedabad: The Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), Ahmedabad zone of CID crime, seized 30.60 grams of mephedrone during a raid in the Khadia area of the city and arrested one accused on the spot. Two other persons were named in the offence.Acting on a tip-off, the ANTF team conducted a raid on Tuesday near the Raipur Darwaza AMTS stand, opposite the Khadia police station. During the operation, a suspect identified as Faizal Dhallawala (25), a resident of Danilimda, was intercepted while moving in the area.

On search, officers recovered 30.60 grams of mephedrone from his possession. The seized contraband was valued at Rs 91,800. A mobile phone worth Rs 5,000 was also confiscated. The accused was arrested. Two other accused, Faizan Byavarwala of Jamalpur and Mehrban Singh Sisodia of Nagda in Madhya Pradesh, were named in the complaint and are being traced.The complaint was lodged by PSI R D Solanki of ANTF, under Sections 8(c), 22(b), and 29 of the NDPS Act, 1985.Officials said further investigation was handed over to the Khadia police station to ascertain the source of the contraband and the network involved in its distribution.
