Kolkata: Bengal’s leader of opposition Suvendu Adhikari on Friday, in a break from the past, skipped Red Road and instead went to Netaji Bhawan to pay tribute to Subhas Chandra Bose on his birth anniversary. Adhikari was shown around Netaji Bhavan by Netaji’s grandnephew Sugata Bose, historian and former Trinamool Lok Sabha MP.“I met Sugata Bose at Netaji’s residence. This was not a planned visit, but he was happy to receive us. Other family members showed us the entire residence of Netaji. Sugata Bose was very cordial and said choosing Netaji’s residence was the right choice,” Adhikari said. Sugata was also at the Red Road celebrations earlier.

Chandra was also critical of BJP.Adhikari said his experience while paying tribute to Netaji on Red Road was not pleasant in the past. “PWD workers throw off the garlands unceremoniously.
