Pune: A 40-year-old scooterist was killed and another scooter driver suffered severe injuries after their two-wheelers were hit by a sports utility vehicle (SUV) on a Hadapsar flyover late on Monday night.The victim, who was from Hadapsar, succumbed to the injuries during treatment. The Wanowrie police identified the deceased as Satish Adagale of Kalepadal, Hadapsar. The injured Akshay Jadhav (27) of Chandannagar is undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Hadapsar.An officer from the Wanowrie police said the accident happened around 11.45pm on Monday on the flyover in Hadapsar. The SUV and the two-wheelers were heading towards Solapur direction. In an attempt to overtake both vehicles, the SUV hit them. “The drivers of both two-wheelers fell off and sustained severe injuries. The locals shifted Jadhav to the private hospital, while policemen sent Adagale to another hospital. He succumbed to the injuries during treatment on Tuesday,” the officer said.He said the police registered a case of causing death by negligence against a 32-year-old farmer from Karmala in Solapur district, who was driving the SUV, he said.
