Kanpur: A speeding SUV hit two teenagers carrying decorative lights in a wedding procession in Khudaganj area of Farrukhabad late Wednesday night, killing one on the spot and seriously injuring the other. The victims were identified as 15-year-old Gautam and 16-year-old Ranjeet, residents of Khudaganj Madaiya. They worked as cart pushers in a local band. According to police, the two had gone with the band to Khudaganj for a wedding procession. Late in the night, they were near the cart when a speeding SUV coming from behind hit them, triggering chaos at the scene. Both injured were taken to the Community Health Centre where doctors declared Gautam dead. Ranjeet, who was seriously injured, was referred to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. However, Ranjeet’s family took him to a private nursing home.TNN
