Ludhiana: Even as the around normal temperatures were witnessed in Ludhiana on Thursday, the met department has issued ‘orange’ alert for the district for Friday, predicting dense to very dense fog.As it was mostly sunny in the city during the day on Thursday, it’s impact reflected on the maximum (day) temperature in Ludhiana as it was recorded at 19.8 degrees Celsius, which is 0.4 degree less than normal, but a degree more than the day before.
The minimum (night) temperature in Ludhiana was recorded at 8.2 degrees Celsius, which is 1.6 degrees more than normal and 2.2 degrees less than the day before.Meanwhile, as mist was there in Ludhiana on Thursday morning, the visibility was recorded at 1,500 meters at 8.30am. Later as haze was witnessed in the city during the day, the visibility was recorded at 5,000 meters at 11.30am, 2.30pm and at 5.30pm as well.The met department in a weather warning for various districts of the state has issued ‘orange alert for Ludhiana for Friday, predicting “dense to very dense” fog. ‘Orange’ alert is issued by the met department for various departments “to be prepared” for the inclement weather.The department has not issued alert for Saturday and Sunday, but has predicted “partly cloudy sky” and “partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers”.Meanwhile, the met department website suggests that the day temperature is expected to rise to 21 degrees by Monday whereas night temperature might fall to 7 degrees on Saturday and then rise to 10 degrees by Sunday.As slightly warm weather was witnessed in Ludhiana on Thursday, the resident did enjoy it.Sukhwinder Singh, a resident, said after recent rains, it was wonderful to see sun shining in the city. He added that he did take a power nap on the roof and basked under the sun after a sumptuous lunch.
