Chennai: To boost tourism and enhance eco-friendly transit infrastructure in Ooty, a detailed feasibility report (DFR) on high-altitude cable-propelled (ropeway) transport systems in the region will be carried out soon.Chennai Metro Asset Management Limited, a joint venture of Chennai Metro Rail Limited and Tidco, was assigned the task of preparing the DFR. It appointed Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited and Outdoor Engineers AG, Switzerland as consultants to carry out the project at 96 lakh. “The consultant will assess feasibility, ridership potential, environmental and social impacts, and traffic management improvement proposals over a period of 120 days,” said CMRL.
