Stones fly at wedding in Rampura over alcohol-laced ‘raita’, cops called in

Kanpur: Villagers in Rampura pelted stones at a wedding procession after ‘raita’ mixed with alcohol was served to guests. The wedding was completed in the presence of police.The incident took place in Farrukhabad district, in the Maudarwaza police station area, when baraat of Yogesh Rajput from Majra Nagla Roop arrived at Rampura village.The guests were having dinner when some youths from the groom’s side served raita mixed with alcohol. Some guests objected to this and the issue soon turned violent. Police reached the spot and took the groom to the police station.The wedding rituals were conducted in police presence. Police have booked eight persons on the charges of assault. All the accused were sent to the court, said police station in-charge Ajab Singh. tnn
