Stone pelting reported on Kashi Mahakal Exp, none hurt

Kanpur: Unidentified miscreants allegedly threw stones at the Kashi Mahakal Express in Kanpur district, breaking a window glass of the first air-conditioned (First AC) coach and spreading panic among passengers, the Government Railway Police (GRP) said on Monday.According to GRP, the incident occurred around 9 on Sunday night near Bhimsen railway station when the train, going from Varanasi to Indore, was moving towards Bhimsen after departing from Govindpuri railway station.GRP station in-charge Hemant said that the window glass of the first air-conditioned coach broke due to stone pelting. He said there was no report of any passenger being injured in the incident. Later, a video of the broken glass was also circulated on social media. Another official said railway employees immediately cleaned up the glass pieces.The station in-charge said that in the initial investigation the case appeared to be mischief and so far, no signs of any major conspiracy were found.He said that as a precaution, security was increased in the area and investigation was ongoing.The Railway Protection Force (RPF) registered an FIR against unknown persons and efforts were being made to identify and apprehend those involved in the alleged incident.
