State level hotel management institute will be built in Aligarh

Aligarh: There is good news for the students doing hotel-mausing courses. The state’s first State Institute of Hotel Management is going to be built at Aligarh. The government has approved a budget proposal of Rs 100 crore for this project. The institute will be built by upgrading the Food Craft Institute operating at AMU. For this, 2.9 hectares of land has already been identified on Rampur village (Anoopshahar Road).

Construction work will start soon. Special things of the place: Graduate and postgraduate courses will be available in hotel management. The institute will have 1600 seats, so that students will not have to go to cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru. The 9 -month certificate course, diploma, graduate and postgraduate degree will be conducted. The courses will be affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).

The central government will give Rs 14 crore, the remaining amount will be borne by the state government. The first installment has received financial approval of Rs 50 crore. The institute will be constructed by C&DS. In the first phase, academic blocks, horticulture, skill blocks, administrative buildings etc. will be prepared.
