Chennai: Chief minister M K Stalin on Tuesday appreciated a head constable from Virudhachalam for rescuing a choking child.The incident happened on Monday when the head constable Saravanan was eating at a private hotel in Periyar Nagar in Virudhachalam. An 18-month-old baby slipped and fell down from the lap of its mother. The fall left the baby choking.
As the mother screamed for help, Saravanan carried the child and ran to a nearby private hospital. The child received first aid and was rescued, following which Cuddalore SP S Jeyakumar called Saravanan in person and appreciated him.Upon hearing the news, Stalin also appreciated the head constable. “A few days ago, while participating in the event where appointment orders were distributed in the police department, I asked the police that their work should be combined with humanity, and the foundation of valour is love. Appreciation for Saravanan for making it happen,” Stalin said on X.
