Bettiah: The 65th and 21st battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) organised a special patriotic programme at Bagaha in West Champaran district on Saturday to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the national song ‘Vande Mataram’.The event began with a collective singing of ‘Vande Mataram’, with all attendees joining in unison to express their patriotic fervour. This was followed by a tricolour rally that started from the battalion premises. Soldiers, students and civilians participated, holding the national flag and chanting patriotic slogans. The rally aimed to promote national unity, integrity and respect for the tricolour. Cultural programmes showcasing patriotic songs, dances and other performances were also held.SSB Commandant of the 65th battalion, Nandan Singh Mehra, said the primary objective of the programme was to instill a stronger sense of patriotism among the public, especially the youth, reinforce national unity and spread awareness about Indian culture and values. He added that the event highlighted the historical significance of ‘Vande Mataram’ and brought together people from different sections of society, recalling the spirit of the freedom struggle and national pride.The programme was organised under the leadership of Commandant Mehra. SSB officers and soldiers, block education officer, Fudan Ram; Sandiksha committee members, and teachers and students from various schools attended the event. All participants displayed patriotism and sent out a strong message of unity in diversity.
