Pune: Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU)’s Centre of Innovation, Incubation and Enterprise has organised a two-day Startup Bootcamp for students from Jan 27 to Feb 20 across 20 locations in Nashik, Ahilyanagar and Pune districts. Director of the SPPU centre Devidas Golhar said, “We want to make students aware of entrepreneurship options and not just look for jobs. As step one, we had organised lectures for students to sensitise them about the choices available in the entrepreneurial world. This is the second phase, where 3,500 students registered and were sorted into small clusters to attend the bootcamp.”The students will be taught problem identification, design thinking, idea validation, business model development, pitching, etc. Golhar further said the ideas selected in the bootcamp will be presented at the SPPU Startup Olympiad in March. “Students will get an opportunity to pitch their ideas to sponsors, govt functionaries, investors, etc, at the Olympiad,” he added.
