Sonbhadra : A serious case of illegal mining has come to light on the sealing land in Obra tehsil area of the district. The aggrieved woman Chanda has alleged that the mining lease has been done by deception on the sealing land given by the government to her father. Among the accused, the names of Messrs Sai Baba Stone Works and Messrs Maa Kamakhya Stone Works have been revealed, which are also accused of more stone mining and transportation than standard.
The victim Chanda said that her father was allotted two and a half bighas of land from the government under sealing. But for the last nearly 10 years, a mining lease has been issued on this land without their consent. He alleged that a person named Dheeraj Rai got the lease done with the connivance of the authorities and is constantly doing illegal mining. On protesting, the accused once asked to give ‘expenses’, but never contacted it.
Heavy mining on sealing land
The victim says that due to this illegal mining, she is facing many legal problems and is afraid of government fines (RC). He also informed that a complaint has been made in this regard through the first registry, but no action was taken. This time the memorandum has been expected to take action as the authorities have assured action.
The victim accused of collusion of officials
Another victim Sanjay Kumar Bharti said that his relative Bhairo Bharti had also got sealing land, but his land has also been cheated by deception. He said that the accused have been avoiding action on the strength of money and influence and the officials are still evasting.
The victims allege that the mine has been deepened about 150 feet, causing a serious accident in the area. At the same time, it was also suspected that if this mining is investigated properly, then the big scam related to MM-11 could also be revealed.
