Litter siblings Seven Barrows and Daoimean Dubh both delivered sensational performances to win the Derby and Oaks at a packed Powerstown Park.

The €50,000 to the winner Boyle Sports Derby was a fantastic event from start to finish, and it was Seven Barrows (Upper Hand-Laurina) who came out on top in the feature final, beating the well-fancied Ballymac Awil. Trained by Gerry Holian for owners Ray Conroy and Ollie Dunne, the powerful performer did some serious running to land the spoils. Nip and tuck early on, the classy winner powered up the hill to win easily in 12.42. The Ballymac runner stumbled at a vital stage.

Litter sister Daoimean Dubh was superb throughout the €50,000 to the winner Horse & Jockey Hotel Oaks. In her opening course of the event, she just edged out leading fancy Butterfield. From there, she was just as good in every round. What a superb performance from this lady who was behind the early-paced Cujo for most of the way in the final. She did it the hard way. Loving the hill. 12.44 on the clock. Trained by Paudie Lyons for Agnieszka Czarnowska, Ballybunion, she was a worthy winner of the great competition.

The €15,000 to winner Callaway Kennels Kevin Smith Champion Stakes was won by Five O Five (Watchman-Highland Kathy). The classy winner was always in control, and he kept on very well to beat Kerry Watch. Trained by Dan O’Connor for owners Daniel O’Connor and Patrick Fitzgerlad, the winner delivered a couple of huge displays over the course of the hotly contested competition. No clock in the final.

Aran View (Watchman-Meek And Mild), trained by Dan Brassil for Donal Malone, Liscannor, displayed plenty of pace and power to win the €15,000 to the winner Hotel Minella Grace & Matt Bruton Champion Bitch Stakes.

Hot favourite Orianthi looked in control early; however, the winner had all the answers on the hill. A length and a bit the margin.

Tedtastic (Upper Hand-Shes Invincible), trained by Pat Buckley for owners the Whelans On A Sunday Syndicate, Doon, was the star of the show in the Stockproof Fencing Products T.A. Morris Stakes, and the smart sort ran out a great winner of the €7,500 to the winner event.

Behind early, the powerful running winner made his move on the hill, and he went on to score in style. 12.38 on the clock. The €7,500 to the winner Canine Physio Kitty Butler Stakes produced a fantastic winner in the shape of Falkens Maze. (Kyle Mozart-Cloncunny Flare) In front early, she kept finding more to beat the gallant Moorstown Sadhbh. Very little in it throughout. Trained by Michael Murphy for owners the Horig Dunford Reid Syndicate, Mooncoin, the winner impressed throughout.

The €7,500 to the winner Powerstown Cup Three Course Championship went the way of Typical Magic (Boylesportsmagic-Rathduff Reba). The strong runner flew up the hill to land the spoils in 12.38, winning for Michael Malone, Athy.

Trained by Patrick O’Connor for The Chase Is On Syndicate, Johnstown, Macs Dream (Blades Of Hope-Ballymac Ber) proved strong for Honey Paddy in the final of the €7,500 to the winner Bobby Browne National Workers Championship. All one-way traffic up front as the impressive winner proved far too strong for Honey Paddy. 12.27 on the clock.

Ballymac Loral (Boylesportsmagic-Ballymac Floral) ran out a brilliant winner of the €1,000 to the winner Cork Containers Virtual Coursing Museum Trophy. Trained by Barry Lynch for the Touch And Go Syndicate, Manchester, the winner got the better of No Return in the decider. Behind early, the strong running winner had to pull out all the stops, in 12.27. Three-quarters of a length the margin.

The 100th National Coursing Meeting produced some excellent coursing over the course of the three days. Big crowds each day, with a massive crowd turning out for finals day.
