Shah to open Dibrugarh assembly complex today

Guwahati: Union home minister Amit Shah will lay the foundation stone of the second Assam legislative assembly building and the Wildlife Research Institute in Dibrugarh on Friday. He will also address a public rally during his day-long visit to the state.The visit will begin in Dibrugarh, where he will lay the foundation stones for the second state assembly building and the Wildlife Research Institute, marking major steps toward strengthening the state’s legislative infrastructure and wildlife conservation efforts.At the same event, he will also inaugurate Phase I of the Khanikar Stadium, a project aimed at enhancing sports facilities in Upper Assam. The programme is scheduled for 10:30 am on Friday at Khanikar, Dibrugarh.The upcoming assembly complex is designed as a modern facility equipped with advanced amenities, while the Wildlife Research Institute is expected to bolster scientific research, conservation initiatives, and protection of Assam’s rich biodiversity.Later in the day, Shah will travel to Dhemaji to attend the 10th Mishing Cultural Festival at Kareng Chapori at 12:15 pm.In the evening, the he will reach Guwahati to meet party leaders and karyakartas at the state BJP office. Discussions are expected to revolve around organisational matters, upcoming political programmes, and strengthening grassroots outreach.
