Second accused held in Gorwa murder case

Vadodara: Gorwa police on Wednesday arrested another accused in connection with the murder of a 45-year-old man who was bludgeoned to death in the Gorwa area early on Tuesday morning. The accused, Sandip Waghela, was nabbed from Bajwa Road following a tip-off about his whereabouts.Waghela and the prime accused, Sohil Rana, were booked for the murder of Amiji Ghanchi.According to police, Ghanchi had a verbal altercation with Rana over a minor issue near a paan stall in Gorwa on Monday night. He later left the spot and informed his son, Arif, about the incident. Arif advised his father to return home.However, Rana and Waghela allegedly intercepted Ghanchi while he was on his way home and assaulted him with a stick in front of Arif. Ghanchi sustained severe head injuries and succumbed.Police said they are investigating the motive behind the attack. A court on Wednesday remanded both the accused to five days of police custody.
