Sarah Ferguson introduced her 22-year-old goddaughter to Jeffrey Epstein just a year after he was released from prison for child sex crimes, reports suggest.
Emails uncovered in the more than three million documents released by the US Department of Justice appeared to show the former Duchess of York providing contact details for Poppy Cotterell, the daughter of her former lady-in-waiting.
Ms Ferguson allegedly wrote “over to you” to the convicted paedophile and helped Epstein, who was released from prison on July 22, 2009, organise a meeting with her goddaughter.
The email, which appeared to be from “Sarah”, was allegedly sent on November 12, 2010, with the subject line “Poppy Cotterell’s contact info”.

Epstein appeared to email his assistant to set up a meeting, with a follow-up message appearing to say: “Poppy Cotterell will come see you on Wed at 2:00 at the house.”
The late paedophile allegedly considered hiring Ms Cotterell and making a $100,000 donation in her name to a health charity.
Separate email messages appeared to show Ms Ferguson’s goddaughter was interested in a meeting with Dr Woodson Merrell, a specialist in integrative medicine.
Epstein appeared to receive an email on November 22, which read: “I have put Poppy and Carinda at Dr Merrell’s office in touch with each other. Poppy is thrilled. I will follow up to see when the tour will take place.”

An alleged friend of Epstein, Mark Lloyd, appeared to exchange emails about Ms Cotterell with the paedophile.
When asked about his opinion of her by Epstein, Mr Lloyd allegedly said “she is both extremely bright and very pretty”.
Ms Cottell follows the former Duchess of York on Instagram, but retains a private profile.
In a statement to The Sun, she said: “In 2010 at the age of 22, I was working in New York as an intern at an art gallery when I was introduced to Mr Epstein about a possible job looking after his art collection.

Questions have been raised about the former duchess’s whereabouts since she was last pictured on September 25, 2025, when she was driven out of Royal Lodge in Windsor.

PAMs Ferguson is reported to have been spending a large amount of her time at the £13,000-a-day Paracelsus Recovery Clinic in Zurich, Switzerland.
“Sarah left for Zurich just after Christmas and stayed until the end of January,” a Swiss source told the Daily Mail, who uncovered the details.
The source continued: “She always feels at home at Paracelsus, and knows she’ll get love and attention there, as well as expert health treatment when she’s feeling at her most vulnerable.”
Another friend in Switzerland said the 66-year-old has been “absolutely crushed” by the alleged email exchanges between the former duchess and Epstein.
“Sarah has built up a strong relationship with Paracelsus, so it was the obvious place for her to get away from everything,” the friend claimed.
