Lucknow: Sanjay Biswal was appointed as new director of Lucknow zoo on Tuesday. He replaced Aditi Sharma.A 2012 batch Indian Forest Officer (IFS), Biswal has served as a divisional forest officer (DFO) in Mathura, Mau, Azamgarh and Lakhimpur Kheri. He is credited with rescuing over 7 tigers and 10 leopards in Lakhimpur.
“I will focus on infrastructural facilities in zoo and try to make more enclosures so that more species of animals and birds can be brought. Ensuring proper seating arrangements for the public and taking proper care of the wildlife is also my priority,” he said.
