Samik in HC, seeks ‘100% central forces’ at 42k booths

Kolkata: BJP state president Samik Bhattacharyya moved the Calcutta High Court on Tuesday, urging the court to order that security of 42,000 booths in Bengal be managed only by central forces. Citing past incidents of poll violence, Bhattacharyya filed a PIL stating the need for heightened security at these booths, contending that the EC must conduct a survey and ensure 100% central force presence.
