Sambalpur: A 44-year-old tattoo studio owner was arrested in Sambalpur city on Thursday for allegedly harassing a 19-year-old woman employee sexually inside his workplace multiple times. Police said the arrest was made after the survivor’s family lodged a written complaint. According to Bareipali police station IIC Radhakanta Barik, the first incident occurred a few days ago, when the accused allegedly misbehaved with the woman at his studio. Despite her objections and warnings, he allegedly repeated the act the following day. Investigators said the accused allegedly touched the employee inappropriately inside the shop. Shocked and distressed, she left the workplace and informed her family, who then approached the police. Based on the complaint, police registered case no. 39 under Sections 126(2) (wrongful restraint) and 75(2) (sexual harassment) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
