Sama councillor says he won’t contest polls

Vadodara: BJP councillor from Sama and political heavyweight Parakramsinh Jadeja on Wednesday announced that he will not contest any elections in the future, saying he wants to pave the way for the next generation.Jadeja was considered a frontrunner for key posts in the BJP organisation, Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) positions, and election tickets. Though he has not been appointed to any major post so far, he said this was not the reason behind his decision. He made the announcement on the sidelines of the VMC general board meeting convened to discuss the civic body’s budget. Recalling his first election, Jadeja said he had replaced another leader in his ward when he was given the ticket. “Now it is my turn to make way for someone else,” he said.Jadeja said he will continue to work for the party.
