Prayagraj: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has set up a special exhibition in sector 1 of the Magh Mela grounds that not only provides a platform for addressing social and cultural issues but also showcases the 100-year journey of the organisation.Founded on Sept 27, 1925, the RSS is celebrating 2025-26 as its centenary year, and a glimpse of this resolve is being offered at the exhibition. Spread across 4 halls in the Parade Ground, the exhibition depicts the various phases of the RSS through live demonstrations and curated panels, presenting a visual and structured account of the organisation’s development. A decorated statue of Bharat Mata greets visitors at the entrance, setting up a symbolic tone for the exhibition. Each hall features posters and visual displays that describe the RSS’s ideology, organisational development and activities over the past century. The exhibition’s in-charge (Nagar Karyavah, Kalyani Nagar South), Sachit Tandon, said: “Nation-building begins with an individual, and since the founding of the Sangh in 1925, they engaged in the work of individual development. Society is built from individuals, and the nation is built from society; therefore, the first unit, the individual, is nurtured with complete inclusivity here.” He added that the life stories and achievements of all 6 Sarsanghchalaks (chiefs) of the Sangh, who dedicated their lives to this resolve, are also depicted through pictures in this exhibition. Tandon said Sangh witnessed many ups and downs in its century-long journey. “The RSS is a non-political organisation that helped people during natural disasters and fulfilled its duty by providing support during the 1965 and 1971 wars. The Congress govt imposed a ban on the RSS in 1948, 1975 and 1992, which was later lifted. This is also depicted in this exhibition. Here, the traditions of the RSS, along with its objectives, are presented in the form of 5 transformations,” he said.
