Varanasi: Ghazipur police sealed the immovable property worth Rs 1.85 crore, purchased by accused Shubham Singh in his mother Neelam Devi’s name in the codeine cough syrup purchase and sale case.ASP, city, Rakesh Mishra said that an FIR was registered by Kotwali police in Ghazipur district in connection with the codeine cough syrup case on Dec 13 under sections 206(A), 271, 276, 61(2), 338, 336(3), 318(4), 340(2) BNS and 27(A) Drugs and Cosmetics Act, and 8/9(1)A(Va)/21/27A/29 NDPS Act against the accused Shubham Singh, a resident of Dhirajotpur Bhudkuda in Ghazipur district.The accused had acquired the immovable property from the money earned through the illegal drug trade.The property in Mauza Dhirajot, Pargana Shadiyabad, Tehsil Jakhaniyan was temporarily frozen as per rules, using powers conferred under Section 68F of SAFEEMA on January 24. Further legal action is being taken.
