Retd soldier shot at by nephew over land row

Kanpur: A retired soldier was shot at by his nephew and other associates in an alleged land dispute on Saturday. He was referred to Jhansi in critical condition.Police identified the injured as Godhan Singh (60), a resident of Pajoniya village in the Render police station area. He was taken to the Orai medical college from where hhe was referred to Jhansi. Singh was returning from his farmhouse on a bike on Saturday night when his elder brother’s son, Sumit Singh Bhadauria, and Sanjay Singh Bhadauria, both from the same village, stopped him, said police. They had an altercation during wich a pistol was fired and the bullet hit Singh in the stomach. The accused fled the scene. The injured soldier called his son Arvind Singh Bhadauria. Arvind alleged that Sumit and Sanjay. both relatives, attacked his father due to land and old family enmity. Circle officer Ambuj Yadav said, “Based on the complaint, an FIR was registered and the accused are being searched for.”
