Kolkata: Normalcy returned to the Globsyn Crystals building at Sector V on Saturday, a day after a restopub fire that had triggered panic and led to mass evacuation of hundreds who worked in offices located in the building. Offices and restaurants functioned as usual, even as the gutted outlet remained cordoned off.The blaze broke out at Pourgattory Club, a pub located on the podium level of the Globsyn Crystals building, on Friday evening. Thick smoke spread rapidly through the lower floors, prompting the evacuation of around 10,500 employees and visitors from over 100 offices and 40 restaurants.On Saturday, however, all other establishments in the complex reopened. Many food and beverage outlets decorated their facades to celebrate Valentine’s Day, anticipating a busy evening. A fire official said they wrote Electronics Complex PS seeking a forensic examination of the affected premises to determine exact cause of blaze. A cop said no plaint was lodged.
