Required Documents for UP Commercial Connection

To apply for a new commercial electricity connection in Uttar Pradesh (UP), you need to submit the following documents to the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) or the respective electricity distribution company (DISCOM) such as PVVNL, MVVNL, PuVVNL, or DVVNL:

List of Required Documents:

1. Application Form – Obtain the prescribed form from the DISCOM office or apply online via UPPCL Portal.

2. Identity Proof (Any one of the following):

   • Aadhaar Card

   • PAN Card

   • Voter ID

   • Passport

   • Driving License

3. Address Proof (Any one of the following):

   • Aadhaar Card (if address matches)

   • Electricity Bill (if existing connection)

   • Property Tax Receipt

   • Municipal Corporation Holding Receipt

   • Lease Agreement (if rented)

4. Proof of Commercial Establishment:

   • Shop & Establishment Certificate

   • GST Registration Certificate (if applicable)

   • Trade License

   • Company Registration Certificate (for Pvt. Ltd./LLP)

5. Property Documents (Any one of the following):

   • Registry/ Sale Deed

   • Possession Letter (for new properties)

   • Rent Agreement + NOC from Owner (if rented)

   • Municipal Khatauni / Mutation Copy

6. Load Details – Specify the required load (kW/kVA) for the commercial establishment.

7. Site Plan & Location Sketch – A clear layout of the premises.

8. Affidavit & Undertaking (as per DISCOM format).

9. Passport-size Photographs of the applicant.

Additional Requirements (if applicable):

• NOC from Authority (if the property is in a special zone like industrial park, municipal area, etc.)

• CA Certificate (for high-tension (HT) connections)

Application Process:

1. Submit Application – Online via UPPCL Portal or at the nearest DISCOM office.

2. Inspection & Feasibility Check – A DISCOM official will verify the site.

3. Payment of Fees – Demand note will be issued; pay the connection charges.

4. Meter Installation – After payment, the connection will be released.

Processing Time:

• LT Connection (Low Tension): 7–15 days (subject to document verification).

• HT Connection (High Tension): 30–45 days (requires additional approvals).
