Raebareli Local News ! Under the Snakebite Reduction Programme, a one-day training workshop was organized at Mahatma Gandhi Auditorium, Vikas Bhawan, Rae Bareli. 50 medical officers from Rae Bareli district participated in this training. Relief Commissioner Bhanuchandra Goswami laid emphasis on providing scientific and practical training to doctors in view of the increasing cases of snakebite. At the state level, Manager Personnel Shantanu Dwivedi took the responsibility of coordination. Snakebite consultant Kavya Sharma prepared the outline and technical content of the training.
The program was started with a welcome speech by Amrita Singh, Additional District Magistrate (AD), Dr. Rishi Bagchi, (Public Health Expert, Rae Bareli). Giving information on the clinical management of snakebite, Dr. Gaurav Pandey and Dr. Sachin Nigam said that it is very important for the doctors to take quick decisions in snakebite cases and take immediate steps towards treatment.
District disaster expert Ankit Pandey was present. AK Bhardhaj and Ritesh Pandey explained about the identification of poisonous and non-poisonous snakebites and said that not every snakebite is fatal, but carelessness in identification can be fatal. He reported symptoms like bleeding, muscle weakness and difficulty in breathing. Dr. Iftikhar Ahmed and Dr. PK Gupta, while emphasizing the role of doctors in the management of snakebite in rural areas, said that doctors not only provide treatment but also work to spread awareness in the community.
