Question papers of students of different streams ‘exchanged’

Kanpur: The parents of some intermediate students reached an exam centre on Thursday and created a ruckus alleging a case of negligence in the Hindi exam conducted on the first day of the UP Board examinations on Wednesday. At Gurunanak Girls Inter College centre, the question papers of four arts students and four science students from JNPN Inter College got exchanged and the science students got General Hindi question paper instead of Hindi while arts students were given Hindi paper instead of General Hindi.

The students allegedly solved the paper without raising any objection or informing the room supervisors or centre administrator. After the first shift, the students reached the centre with their parents and created a ruckus.They alleged that they were not given an opportunity to present their case and the exam was conducted under pressure. They levelled allegations of negligence against room supervisors, and accused them of sleeping during duty. On Thursday again they reached the exam centre. On bing informed, Nazirabad police reached the spot and tried to calm the agitated parents, ensuring that the second shift examination was not affected. Meanwhile, the District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) sent a team to talk to the parents. The DIOS team told them that the board has been informed of the issue and students’ interest would not be harmed.DIOS Santosh Kumar Rai told reporters, “Room supervisors distributed wrong papers by mistake and the board has been informed about the same. Students need not worry, they will not be harmed.”
