Varanasi: A PWD accounts officer in Jaunpur has filed an FIR against an executive engineer and two others, alleging assault and misbehaviour over contractor payment issue on Friday. The executive engineer has also countersued the accounts officer by filing an FIR for casteist abuse, citing BNS and SC Act. Jaunpur CO City Goldy Gupta said PWD accounts officer Ram Milan Yadav has levelled serious allegations of assault against executive engineer Rajendra Kumar and two others, including Guddu and Rajneesh Singh. The executive engineer has also lodged an FIR against the accounts officer, he said, adding that Line Bazar police team has started investigating the matter. In his complaint, Yadav has said that he was called by Kumar to his office and asked to sign some payment-related documents, but he objected. He has alleged that his refusal angered the executive engineer and, at his instigation, Guddu and Rajnish, who claimed to be the representatives of two MLAs, attacked him. tnn
