Punjabi singer fighting for life after ambush in Ludhiana.

Ludhiana: Punjabi stage performer and devotional singer Aman Sahota is in a critical condition after being hacked with sharp-edged weapons by a masked gang in Ambedkar Nagar on Tuesday evening.Sahota, a resident of Himmat Singh Nagar, was standing outside a local shop when he was reportedly ambushed by a group of unidentified assailants. The attackers fled the scene after inflicting multiple deep wounds, including a suspected skull fracture. His friends, who rushed him to Ludhiana Civil Hospital, told authorities that the singer’s injuries were so severe that doctors immediately referred him to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh for emergency surgery.The motive behind the attack remains a mystery. Sahota, known for his stage shows and recorded hymns, was in Ambedkar Nagar on personal business when the group struck. “He was just standing there when they attacked him without warning,” said his friend, Arsh Kumar. “By the time we reached the spot, the attackers had vanished. The doctors say he has suffered massive head trauma.” Model Town police have cordoned off the area and are scanning CCTV footage from nearby shops to identify the assailants.Case StatusThe attackers remain unidentified as of Wednesday morning. Inspector Jaswinder Singh, SHO at Model Town, stated that a formal FIR is being processed, though the victim’s critical condition has delayed the recording of his official statement. Security has been stepped up in the Dugri and Ambedkar Nagar areas to prevent any retaliatory violence between local groups
