Chandigarh: PU has introduced a new undergraduate programme in forensic science and criminology following the upgradation of the Institute of Forensic Science and Criminology into a full-fledged department under the honours school. The move aligns with recent changes in India’s criminal laws, which place greater emphasis on forensic investigation, particularly in serious offences, creating a growing demand for trained forensic professionals across investigative agencies. The new BSc programme will have 30 seats, with admissions through CUET-UG. Weightage will be given to both entrance scores and Class 12 marks. Applicants must have studied physics and chemistry along with biology or Mathematics at the senior secondary level.
