Bhagalpur: District police have initiated action after a video went viral showing a youth dancing on stage while brandishing a country-made firearm during a cultural event under Nathnagar police station area.The incident reportedly took place at Bairia village, during the Maha Shivratri festival, police sources said. The footage surfaced on social media on Saturday, prompting police to launch an investigation and conduct raids to arrest the accused.
The absconding accused has been identified as Bhola Kumar Mandal, son of Sahab Mandal of Bairia village. Police sources said he has a criminal record, including cases of motorcycle theft and snatching.SSP Pramod Kumar Yadav said the police are investigating the source of the weapon. He added that authorities will also examine whether prior administrative permission had been obtained to organise the cultural event.
