Private company staffer dies by suicide at her home in Sohna

Gurgaon: A 26-year-old woman was found hanging inside her rented flat in a residential society in Sohna on Monday morning. Police said the incident occurred in a seventh-floor flat in tower 4 of GLS Society. The deceased, identified as Kiran, worked with a private company in the Rojka Meo industrial area and lived in the flat with her brother, Akash, who is also employed at a private firm in the city.According to police, Kiran and her brother attended a wedding on Sunday and returned home later in the evening. She then went to her room to sleep. On Monday around 8am, Akash opened her room and found her hanging. He informed their uncle, who alerted the police.A police team reached the spot. “No suicide note was found from the spot,” an officer said, adding that the body was shifted to the civil hospital mortuary for autopsy. Police said an investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances leading to her death.In another incident, a 22-year-old man was found hanging inside a rented room in Sector 66 on Sunday evening. Police suspect mental distress as a possible reason. The deceased, Yogesh, was from Bijnor in UP. He was employed with a private company and lived in the rented room with his partner, Gayatri, who works as a domestic helper. Police said Yogesh was at home on Sunday, while Gayatri went to work. Around 7.30pm, when she returned, she found the room locked from the inside. After repeated calls went unanswered, she sought help from neighbours, who broke open the door and found him hanging. They informed the police. A police team reached the spot and got the scene examined by forensic and fingerprint experts. No suicide note was recovered.During the inquiry, Yogesh’s maternal uncle told police that he had limited contact with his family in recent months. Police also said Yogesh had travelled to his village two days earlier but returned midway and appeared disturbed thereafter.An officer said the autopsy was conducted on Monday, and the body was handed over to the family. “Statements have been recorded and the case is being examined from multiple angles. So far, it appears that he was under mental distress,” he said.
