Noida: Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Maldives on Friday as part of his four -day Britain and Maldives tour. Earlier, he was busy with official meetings in Britain for two days.

Warm welcome at Male Airport

Prime Minister Modi was given a grand welcome at Male Airport, the capital of Maldives. Maldives President Mohammad Mujju himself was present at the airport and he hugged and welcomed PM Modi. Many ministers of the Maldives government were also present during this period.

Modi reached as chief guest on Independence Day

PM Modi has arrived to attend the 60th Independence Day celebrations of Maldives as the chief guest. This two -day visit is considered important towards strengthening the relations between India and Maldives.

Important talks can be held regarding India-Maldives relations

During this tour, several important issues like strategic, business and regional cooperation are likely to be negotiated between the two countries. It is believed that this tour will prove to be a strong link towards taking mutual cooperation between India and Maldives to new heights.
