Patna: The income-tax department carried out simultaneous raids at several locations linked to the Panorama Group and its CMD Sanjeev Mishra in Purnia and Supaul districts on Tuesday. The operation began at around 6am and caused a stir in the areas concerned.A team of over 20 senior income-tax officials from Patna conducted the search operations until late at night. In Purnia, the raids covered all premises associated with the Panorama E-Homes Group, particularly properties located on District School Road and Bypass Road. Officials examined financial records, land documents and other papers in detail. Mishra, along with his family members, was interrogated during the operation.
The action was extended to Supaul district, where raids were conducted at three key locations linked to Mishra. These included Panorama Public School at Rampur under Chhatapur police station area, Panorama Hospital at Rampur, and Basant Rice Mill at Karjain.Mishra is also known as a leader affiliated with the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) and is considered close to party chief Mukesh Sahani.A senior income-tax official said the raids were being carried out simultaneously in Supaul and Purnia at premises linked to the CMD of the Panorama Group in connection with suspected tax evasion and undisclosed income. “The raids appear focused on scrutinising financial transactions, possible irregularities and related matters. More details will emerge after the searches are completed and the seized documents are analysed,” he said.
