Ponda: Prakash Kumar Yadav, 23, a labourer from Bihar, died after an electricity pole fell over him at Manaswada, Kundaim in Ponda on Friday afternoon.Yadav was shifting an underground electric cable to the pole. While dismantling a discarded conductor, he lost balance and fell on the ground. The pole too collapsed on him resulting in bleeding from his nose and mouth. He was immediately rushed to the marcaim primary health centre by an 108 ambulance, where he was declared dead.He was working for Padmavati Infrastructure Pvt Ltd, a company from Delhi engaged by the contractor for underground cabling work of the electricity department. He was residing in a rented room at Marcaim.Police have preserved his body at the South Goa District Hospital at Margao for an autopsy likely to be held on Saturday.
