Power fault disrupts train services on Delhi-Howrah route

Kanpur: Train operations on the Delhi-Howrah route came to a halt on Wednesday evening after a technical fault in the power supply in Etawah suspended services for about an hour, leaving several trains stranded midway. Railway officials sent a technical team to fix the fault, after which operations were gradually restored.On the Delhi-Howrah rail route in Etawah section on Thursday evening, a technical problem in the OHE (Over Head Equipment) line affected both up and down lines for about one hour. Officials, and staff from the signal and other departments rushed to locate the fault. Operations resumed after the fault was fixed in the OHE between the junction and Ekdil station.Public relations officer, North Central Railway, Amit Malviya said, “Traffic on up and down lines on Delhi-Howrah rail route between Etawah Junction and Ekdil station was affected for 1 hour due to a technical fault in the OHE line on Wednesday evening at 5:57 minutes. The technical problem in the OHE was fixed at 6:48 minutes after which operations resumed.”On the up line Neelanchal Express was halted at Ikdil, while on the down line New Delhi-Varanasi Vande Bharat was stopped at Saraibhupat, Bikaner-Guwahati Express at Etawah Junction, New Delhi-Kanpur Shatabdi Express at Korara, Parasnath Express at Saraibhupat, Aligarh-Govindpuri Fast Passenger at Jaswantnagar, Tundla-Kanpur Passenger at Balrai and Gomti Express at Firozabad.
