Poultry trader shot dead over personal enmity in Arwal

Patna: A 40-year-old man was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Arwal district on Monday. The incident took place near Andhra Chak on the Shahar Telpa–Devkund main road.Police identified the deceased as Sanjay Kumar, a resident of Mahavirganj under Shahar Telpa police station. He was a construction contractor and also ran a poultry farm in the Andhra Chak area, where he had recently built a house.

Around 10am on Monday, Sanjay was getting his house cleaned when criminals arrived in an autorickshaw and on a motorcycle. The bike-borne assailants called him outside and shot him at close range, killing him on the spot.Police from Shahar Telpa station reached the location soon after and began an investigation. Two empty cartridges were recovered. Given the seriousness of the case, a forensic team was called in to collect scientific evidence.Arwal SP Navjot Singh Simi has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by DSP Kriti Kamal. “Forensic evidence has been collected. Technical experts are analysing the deceased’s call detail records. The murder appears to be linked to personal or business enmity. The family has not submitted a written complaint yet as they are engaged in last rites. Further investigation will proceed based on their application,” the SP said.
