Police link four firing incidents in 48 hours in Gurgaon, 3 arrested

Gurgaon: Three men were arrested on Thursday following four firing incidents that took place over two days in the city. The crime branch arrested Vinay (26), Bobby (25) and Pawan (27) — all residents of Kadarpur village — who allegedly opened fire at four locations, including a toll plaza and residential houses in a village. The incidents involved the same accused and the police said the trio opened fire “with intent to murder” on Jan 28 and 29 over a personal rivalry. During interrogation, the accused admitted their involvement. On Jan 28, three men allegedly arrived in a black car and fired eight to ten rounds in the air outside a resident’s house in Kadarpur village after threatening two brothers over the phone for several hours. The accused warned the family that they escaped “this time” but would not be spared in the future before fleeing the spot.Police said the unnamed complainant told them that between 8pm and 1am, he and his brother received repeated calls threatening to kill them. Fearing for their safety, they stopped answering the calls. Shortly afterwards, the accused reached the house and carried out the firing.A police team from Sector 65 carried out a detailed inspection. Teams from the scene-of-crime unit, FSL, fingerprint bureau and the station manager were called to collect evidence. A case was registered under relevant sections. During the investigation, police uncovered three more firing incidents linked to the same accused. “On Jan 29, the trio allegedly opened fire at employees of the Ghamdoj toll plaza after being asked to pay toll tax. On the same day, they also fired with intent to kill a person in the Jheel ki Dani area of Kadarpur village due to old enmity, following which two cases were registered at Bhondsi police station,” an officer said.Later that evening, around 8.50pm, the accused allegedly fired at the house of a man named Rohit in Kadarpur village after a dispute, the officer added. A separate case was registered at Sector 65 police station. The accused were also previously involved in Arms Act and assault cases.
