Police fail to make headway in Ganeshpara robbery case

Guwahati: Police officers from Fatasil Ambari are yet to find any concrete leads even after nearly 36 hours in connection with the armed robbery case that happened in the city’s Ganeshpara locality on Monday night.Numal Mahatta, deputy commissioner of police (DCP) (West), while addressing the media said, “We are thoroughly investigating the matter, and our teams have been continuously engaged for the past 24 hours to crack the case. We have made significant progress in the investigation and hope to resolve the case very soon. This is a highly concerning incident, and the perpetrators involved will be given the strictest punishment as per the law.”The DCP also said the investigation is progressing efficiently, and to ensure this, he has formed a special team of experienced police officers. “To ensure that no stone is left unturned during the course of investigation, we have brought in these experienced officers. This is a team effort, and has been carried out as per the instructions of the Commissioner of Police. Along with this, a detailed technical analysis is being carried out to examine all available evidence, and once this process is completed, we will be able to identify and apprehend the culprits in accordance with the law,” he saidMahatta said the family driver, Manoj, has been taken in for questioning along with the relevant victims, to ensure that there is no room for any procedural lapse or negligence.
