Pocso court reserves decision on plea seek FIR against Avimukteshwaranand

Prayagraj: The Pocso court has reserved its decision on a petition filed by Ashutosh Ji Mahraj seeking a direction to the police authorities to register an FIR against Swami Avimukteshwaranand for the alleged exploitation of minor boys in his camp.Ashutosh Mahraj alleged that he had earlier approached the police authorities of Prayagraj for lodging the FIR in this connection, but no action was taken. He said he then filed a petition before the Pocso court, seeking a direction the police authorities to register an FIR against the Swami Avimukteshwarand in order to get the aforesaid allegations investigated and the report be filed accordingly. According to Ashutosh Mahraj, when he was in his camp at Magh Mela at Prayagraj, two minor boys contacted him alleging that “they are being sexually exploited in the camp of Swami Avimukteshwarand”. The Pocso court judge, Vinod Kumar Chaurasia, at one stage, issued notice to Avimukteshwarand to file his reply. Subsequently, a reply was filed on behalf of Avimukteshwaranand, which was taken on record.On Friday, as per direction of the Pocso court, the two minor boys were produced before the court. Later, their statement was recorded by the court. Thereafter, the court reserved its decision, which will be pronounced later.
